This fine sword is now offered for sale. Read more about my journey making this sword here.
This is an eighth century Saxon sword, reproduced from an existing pommel in the British Museum collection - complete with sterling silver grip, pommel and crossguard, with gilded detailing.
It has a seven bar pattern welded blade, with an exquisite alternate twist patterning and a 500 layer cutting edge.
The sword comes with an ash and calfskin scabbard and fittings in silver and gilded bronze to match the main motifs on the sword hilt.
