The Vaage Sword

I based this on an example from the Ian Pierce book ‘Swords of the Viking Age’ and extended on the existing carvings on the hilt and pommel, as well as making a simple carved grip ring in the mid section. The blade is 32 inches long with an hourglass style grip in stained and oiled maple, a wide fuller runs 3/4 of the blades length. Its weight is around 2.4 pounds with fittings in bronze. EN45 spring steel hand forged, hardened and tempered to 52 Rockwell.
